Handyman Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Ok so I'm going through my list of future mods I want to do to my 2 shee's. I have a question about headlights....Which to go with?? I currently have PIAA's onmy '99 and love them but they seem big. I know trailtech and torch lights(not sure if same company) look good on the shee's I've seen on here but are they as bright as the PIAA's?? When it comes to riding at night I want to be able to see the changing terrain and anything in my path that I may need to avoid. Any info and night PICS would be greatly appreciated. Bansh-eman Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 they probly arnt as brite being they are a smaller bulb and less mirros shit behind the light to reflect ... but they light some shit up thats for sure! and you can drop 55 watt lights in vie the 35 to make them briter Quote
Bansh88 Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 55watts with a stock stator will not be brighter. It will be yellow. Don't run more than 2 35watt ligths with a stock stator. You are just wasting light/power. I rode with a guy who had 2 big PIAAs on his shee. I asked about his stator. He said "they run sweet with the stock stator!". His fucking lights looked like they were filled with piss. Very little light and dim yellow. Trail Techs are sweet. Very durable as well. Quote

Handyman Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 (edited) I have what I believe is the 6" PIAA headlights on my '99 and the stock stator(Haven't opened up the cover yet). The lights are a bright white and bright as hell and not yellowish at all. I haven't tried the lights on my '05 yet, just got the cheetah engine together and waiting for some pipes. to start the thing. the '05 has stock head lights and I don't like the looks of them but they will do until I get more cash flow. I'm sure most of those type lights come with 55w H3 bulbs, you can get 35w but I never see them at the parts stores like autozone. I like the bigger lights myself. Quote
