kaotik1 Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 I hope this is in the right section. I just got a titled frame that the sub-frame is tweeked just a little bit. It is a bare frame and I want to know how I can check to see if its all straight. Are there points a can check from? Or should I just bring it to a shop and let them check it over. Thanks -Tj Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 honestly, subframes bend very easily. ive bent several. i then gussett them once i bend them back. id check to make sure the gas tank fits ok. the steering loop is the next easiest thing to bend. other than that, unless that fucker was dropped from a place, theres a pretty good chance its straight. ive seen some banshees roll 15 times end to end and side to side, and the only things ive ever seen bend are the steering loop and subframe. i bet yours is fine.. Awesome! I was kind of figuring as much, but I wanted to be sure. I just have to figure out where the sub frame is tweeked then and how much to get it back to good! Thanks! Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 generally the two tabs that hold the grab bar are the first to tweak..if you throw some rear plastic on it thats in good shape you will be able to tell more whats bent, as itll look funny compared to the plastic. if the whole subframe is tweaked you should be able to see that fairly easily. can you post some pictures up?? kaotik1 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Report Posted December 21, 2006 I am at work right now, and wont be able to post them till tomorrow when I can take them. I have a set of brand new never mounted UFO(stock cut) plastics, so that should help me out. It doesnt look to bad so I just wanted to be sure the sub was all that was bent. I will mount a tank as well. Quote
kaotik1 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Report Posted December 21, 2006 Here are the pictures.. It looks like crap, I think the previous owner tried to paint it blue. It is bent not bad, I put the plastics on it they sit really hit at the end of the frame. It also looks as if they tried to gusset the frame. Quote
