Hey

I have been going to the dunes for several years now and have had all kinds of toys. I started with a POS VW home built rail, moved to a LTZ400, then a Busa Powered sand car. I have always seen the banshees flying around so I figured the next toy would be one. So I got the 06 SE in yellow.

I am used to riding a 4 stroke so the 2s are a new animal. What do I need to do to break the banshee in?

Also i have to rev it up into the powerband before it will even start to move, is that normal? I test rode a banshee about a year ago and I dont remember winding it out to get it to move. Is that normal with the fuel being mixed rich for the breakin?

Thanks

Hey there,

Welcome to the HQ.

As for your problem and some of my knowledge, i think that your jetting is off. There are a couple good jetting guys around here, so if your not sure just ask. Have fun with it.

Did you buy this brand new? If you did talk to the stealership you got it from.

If not, then it is a good idea to go over the whole bike. Clean filter, carbs, chain, change tanny oil. Those are just some. While the carbs apart, check what size jets it has. New plugs might help. That's a good start, let us know. A plug chop is helpful to do and not expensive.

Welcome to the banshee world, and being broke because of it. Many mods that can be done. Best web site for it. You can almost find everything by searching for it.

Good luck.

It is a brand new bike. The dealer is telling me it is normal, but I fell like I am reving it up to drag race and feathering the clutch just to get it moving.

Ya, if it's brand new, it does that. It did it to me the first time. It'l do that for about the first tank and a half then it gets better and so on. Just break her in and she'll come around.

took it out today and put 2 tanks fo fuel through it. It runs much better. I am also more comforatable with the kick of the power band. As for upgrade I have a fortune in parts ordered. FMF pipes, jets. 2+1 front arms, +4 rear arm, Sand stars, ITP bajas. Let me tell you the wife is thrilled.

Thanks for the advice
