feedmelies Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Well, I know that stock yfz 450 shocks can work on our bikes with a little modification. But how will aftermarket shocks designed for the 450 work? I am looking into getting better shocks. Used products cost a lot less... Thanks Quote

Thanks well i'm not too sure about if the aftermarket ones will interchange but if they dont, you could put them on here for sale for some of these other guys on here that do have 450's. i'm sure someone will buy them. Ruko Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 I have Elka's off a 450 on mine and they bolted right up without any mods at all on the stock a-arms... I have +2 arms now and they work awesome. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 Hey Ruko, Can I see some pics of your setup? Thanks. Quote
feedmelies Posted December 14, 2006 Author Report Posted December 14, 2006 Okay guys, help me out here. I might have the opportunity to get some long travel Elka's that were on a yfz 450. The owner says that they measure 18 1/2" long. I have Janssen +2+1 arms. Would they work? I have heard about harming the ball joints. Let me know. Quote
Ruko Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 I have some close up ones around somewhere too but I'll have to find them Quote

I would think you will need to go with long travel arms with those shocks... the ones I have are stock length 450 shocks... I think they are about 16" long. Not sure what the difference is with long travel arms though, with the stock length 450 shocks and +2 arms I have over 11" travel as is. Quote

They didn't have resi's either... so maybe I'll just wait for the whole package to pop up. Quote
