MikeA Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 :shoothead: Has good spark, but will not start. Has fuel, resistance off of the stator is all within specs. I tried to push start it and it wanted to run but didn't. I've had this for a year and a half and never ridden it. Any suggestions? Quote
bansheefreak Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 check the choke tube between the carbs... Quote
Satsol67 Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Might be a stupid question but you said you have had it a year and a half. Was there any gas in it while it was sitting? Have you tried spraying cab cleaner in the carbs then try to start? If you are getting Fuel and Spark do a compression test to be sure topend is good. Also if you have TORS try disconecting the black box under the gas tank. Just a few things to try. Quote
MikeA Posted November 25, 2006 Author Report Posted November 25, 2006 i had for a year and a half because i was saving up money to rebuild the engine. Quote
BANSHEEMANIAC Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 (edited) check you compression on that thing. if you have fire, gas, and compression, a 2 stroke will run! now if you had a 4 pokeher, you need 4 things to make it run. that is fire, ALCOHOL , compression, and alot of luck, and when that fails, just set it ON FIRE!  Edited November 25, 2006 by BANSHEEMANIAC Quote
ReBall Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 when I rebuilt my top end last year I kicked and kicked mine for ever then I said screw it and tryed to push start it and nothing. Finally I pull started it with my truck and It started first kick from there on out. Quote
MikeA Posted November 26, 2006 Author Report Posted November 26, 2006 I pull started it with my truck and it started and ran but bogged when I tried to drive it. I did that several times and hit power band a couple of times, but it ran like shit the whole time. Any suggestions? Quote
dajogejr Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Did you actually rebuild the motor you were saving up to? Have you done a compression and leak down test? Did you COMPLETELY disassemble the carbs and clean them out? I'd bet you've got some clogged passages in the carbs. Another dumb question, but the air cleaner(s) are clean, properly oiled and new spark plugs, right? Quote
