slayer01 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 okay my problem is that i bought this banshee a week ago and it with a exhaust leak. i fixed the exhaust leak. it seems to be smoking out of the left pipe more then the right. it seems to smoke alot more out of the left when its cold i was thinking the right carburator was a bit lean theres no real power loss that i can notice but it is kinda of a dog tell it warms up. the only other thing ive changed is the spark plugs to try and solve the problem. any help would be greatly apperciated thanks James Quote
dajogejr Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Do a compression check, and if you just bought it it'd be a good idea to completely dissasemble and clean each of the carbs, one at a time to make sure nothing is plugged up. White smoke? Blue smoke? Black smoke? Quote

65983cobra Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Also make sure the pilot screws are the same turns out and the carbs are properly sequenced. Quote
slayer01 Posted November 20, 2006 Author Report Posted November 20, 2006 (edited) is it new or used? and any motor work? new you should get 120-130... its an used 2001 banshee with fmf slip on exhaust i was told it has been rebuilt not to long ago but who know if it really was and it always starts first or second kick though Edited November 20, 2006 by slayer01 Quote
dajogejr Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Starting first or second kick is USUALLY a good sign of proper compression, good to check anywho. Clean the carbs... Quote
3 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Check if your carbs are synchronize. If its really off it will run bad on idle, not just on idle, and can smoke more on one side. While cleaning your carbs check the needles clip position, ive seen carbs with different clip positions and it was really smoking more on one side. Quote
