rynb15 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 On my last ride on the shee the throttle started sticking. But im pretty sure when it happens the thumb throttle lever is pulled all the way back. And to get it unstuck i have the go wot for a second and it will unstick.... Any suggestions on what to look for? thanks Quote
Satsol67 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 The first thing I would check is the cable. Look were the 2 go into the one. If that isnt it good chance your carbs need to be cleaned out. Pull off your air box lid and look at the slides to see if you can make it happen again. If you can wiggle the the calbe where the 2 go into the 1 and see if the slides close all the way. It can only be a few things. Cable, dirt, or maybe the tops. Good luck Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 make sure your carbs are clean and no dirt is in there making them stick... also make sure your needles arnt bent and not going back into the main jet all the way... also lube your cable up good id bet you got alot of shit inside the cover and its just dragging and making it stick... if you got aftermarket cables trash them and get oem, i know for a fact the motion pro steel braided cables blow... as soon as they melt your shits going to fray and get stuck wide open or your clutch is going to do the same... Duke-NL Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 I was having the same problem.... I'm using a twist trottle so my TORS is removed. I found that cleaning my carbs helped. Was it raining, or moisture involved? Mine, would stick when I went through a puddle or it was raining outside. Never really found a solution.... just keeps my carbs clean and stay away from water when I can. DUKE Quote
rynb15 Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 thanks for the replies guys. Ill take it apart and lube it up. The thumb throttle is also real stiff. And yes it was pretty wet out the last time i rode it. Quote
Satsol67 Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 You might also check your thumb throttle itself if the other stuff doesnt work. Take the top of it and make sure there aint crap in it. Not likely but you never know. I would say cable if the thumb throttle is stiff. Quote
