Will pro design bigbore cool head domes fit in a regular pro design cool head? I wouldnt think so because I would think they would be bigger. I just wanted to ask to be sure.

Thanks

yes big bore domes will fit in a normal cool head they are the same size ... its the cut on the domes that is differant..

Will these work?

How is the cut different? I am wanting to boost my compression up durning this rebuild but I want to be albe to still use 93 oct.

Do you think these will work for me?

well your contradicting your self... boosting your compression mean running high octane... that is unless you dont really bring your static compression up much but then whats the point for aying for new domes? wate of money imo... get your self a adjustable timing plate and advance your tming youll get more out of that and can still run pump...

yes i am going to do that too if it isnt already done. I dont know yet because I havent pulled the flywheel off yet. Being that I have my topend apart for a rebuild I kind of wanted to do this at the sametime.

I just dont want to have to run anything more then 93oct.

From what I have read if you bump up the compression it will boost the power.

no need to pull the flywheel you can see the adjustable plate behind there... if the holes where it mounts are elongated then you got an adjustable if they are just bigenough for the screws then its not...you can see the edges with the wheel on...oh btw dont use the timing key they are crap.. any time you want to make an adjustment you got to pull the flywheel and they are notoriouse for stripping.. pay a few buck more and get the plate...

My domes have some grooves from when the piston came a part which i think they would still be ok to use. But if I need to replace them should i go to 20cc or keep 22cc? I also would like to pick up some used ones for 1/2 the price of new ones.

Do you think it is worth it? Or just put my old ones back on?

Thanks for telling me that about the plate I will check that tomorrow.

no dont use scarred domes... get new ones... thats where the bread and butter of your motor is at dont risk it by using crappy domes... the size depends on if you dont mind not running pump... i dought going from 22cc to 20 cc will make enough defferance to need 50/50 but the only way to be 100% is do a compression test on your motor and see..

ok cool then I will bid on these. i lost the last ones i bid on this morning.

From what someone else said they should bring my compression to 140 which i still should be able to run pump gas.

I was just unsure that these would fit being he has them listed as bigbore domes.

damn got outbid again. oh well I wanted to get them for 25 shipped.

big bore domes are for bigger pistons 66.5 mm and up...if your not running big bore dont get them get normal cut domes.. also are you running a stoker? if not make sure they havent cut them for a stroked motor ...

hehehe. Good thing i didnt win them then. Thats what i was asking is if they would fit. I'm getting mine bored to 64.50. I guess i didnt explain myself good enough. No stroker motor either. I will get a port job on my next build i just dont have the funds for it just yet. For the most part mine is plenty fast enough for me. I would like to wake up the bottom end a little more though.

My thinking to the 20cc domes was, being that i have the topend off i might as well go from 22cc to 20cc. Specaily if i could get them cheap from ebay. I seen were someone has them for 50 bucks shipped so i might just go that route now that i didnt win the other ones.

Thanks

if you want to wakeup your bottomend advance your timing... but either way you need new domes if you damanged your old ones... also if you ever plan on going stroker your old porting will have to be redone to change your port timings to accomidate the stroker..

I'm not completely sure, but if you change your domes you might want to do a squash check to make sure you have the proper piston clearance to get the best preformacne. seen something on a thread about that. just my .02 cents, these guys on here would know more details on that.

that is 100% accurate.. any time you change your dome you ALWAYS want to check your squish if you got to much your going to blow your head gaskets and not enough your defeating the purpose of the new domes...
