Ron Burgandy Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 So I got my shee, and this past weekend I went up to Southern to ride some trails, amazing place to ride by the way and I had the hardest time keeping up with my fellow riders. one had a 250 dirtbike and the other was a honda fourstroke, I think it was a 300. Anyway, when we were riding the woops and harder terrain that damn honda would pull away and im here thinking, I have a damn banshee!I should be the one up front. The shee wore me out that day, I felt like I ran a marathon then got into a fight with hogan :: So my delema is, I want to be able to ride the trails with a little more ease, but I dont really want to swap for a fourstorke. (or should I?) -so what can I do to my shee to make it a little more trail friendly? feedback will be greatly appreciated Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 well what do you have on it now? Here is what you need to make it more trail friendly Suspension front and rear Pipes with some good bottom end Your bike should have plenty of power to destroy that 300ex, even if it is a 400ex. Get yourself some good suspension and your set. I would also buy some +2+1 a-arms if yiu have the money. The cheapest way you can go is to buy yfz450 front shocks that can be installed with a little mod. You can also have your rear shock revalved. Quote
Bansh88 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Honda 300? You definitely ought to be able to smoke that through any terrain. Sure it wasn't a 450? 450s have superior suspension ove a Banshee. Is this your first quad? First full size quad? If it is, it's probably just your experience. Whoops are best taken care of with full throttle and lean back. Tight corners and chop need to have the right gear and powerband going Quote

I got fmf fatties, holeshots, K&N...oh and uh..I dont know if I should claim the boost bottle :shoothead: I had no problem taking the honda just he obviously handled better then my bike... -Is that a good rout to go?yfz450 shocks?how much we talking? -I basiclly wanted, or wondered if my bike can handle like a fourstroke does? or with that ease? -or does it look like I just go out and get a fourstorke? Hollister_Hitman Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 the yfz shocks are like 200-300 on ebay. here is what you need to do to install them http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...=47969&st=0 a rebuilt rear I think runs somewhere around $200 (not sure though) Also if you buy some +2+1 a-arms your bike will handle really really well Quote

I just thought it was a little funny. Hell it took me about a week or 2 to get used to mine when I first got it and I would ride everyday. This is with the lsr A-Arms and Swinger. Quote

Bansh88 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Dont waste money on YFZ shocks. You can find a good set of used aftremarket shocks for the same price. Unless you got lots of cash, hold off on expensive parts. Quote
