I am trying to decide between a Banshee (which I have owned in the past) or a Raptor 700R.

One thing about the Banshee, they are down in price to $5100 out here where I live, and a few 06 models still in stock. The Raptor retails in at $7199... I could just get a Banshee and throw on mods for the price of a Raptor.

If I do this route please help me with suggestions on mods. I primarly do trail riding out here in North Texas. 27 years of age and 5'11" 185lbs

I really don't want to get into major engine reworking.

Pipes/Silencers - ?

Tires/Rims - ?

Suspension - ?

Coolhead - ?

Extended A-arms/Swingarm - ?

Other mods you can think of - ?

Total - ?

Thanks for any info. Still trying to decide between the 2 quads.

pipes and silencers are the first thing...

get your self a nice suspension, i like works performance

+2 a arms would be nice to have...

no need for an extended swing if your not doing motor mods...

v force reeds

and a woods port job

and you have a WHOLE new bike...

also look iinto a billet impeller..

If i was in the market for a quad to primarily trail ride with i would lean more towards the Raptor.I love my shee but trail riding it is a little bit of a chore.Dont get me wrong it is a blast but at the end of the day my whole body is feeling it where the raptor is like riding a cadilac.

yea, trails riding would me more aimed twards 4 stroke due to power, fuel milage, and ride.

I guess I should just stick with getting a Raptor.

It's up to you, but I love trail riding 2 strokes. With the right pipes, +4 timing and a milled head you'll have some nice low end grunt. Also, putting a sprocket that's 1 tooth smaller up front helps too. I have 0 problems keeping up with 4 strokes through trails, and I'll blast through the straight aways even faster most times. To be honest if it were up to me I'd do the bansh and 2 gs worth of mods, you'll have a nice setup. But to each is own, and I know a lot of people do prefer 4 strokes for trails. I'm just not one of them.

Yeah....I like the banshees for nice wide open riding, drag strip and dunes...

Other than that, take any one of the new 4 strokes, 450s or Raptor, slap a slip on or pipe on and air filter, and enjoy the trails...

I'm looking into one next year myself...

Just something about being able to pull up to a pump, and pump...without having to mix, worry about fuel mileage...etc.

My trail buddies are ALL 4 strokers, my dune/drag strip buddies are all banshee guys (with one or two exceptions).... There's just something to that...:)

Good luck!!
