DOTD Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 (edited) Though I never met these guys, I feel a loss. Maybe because I ride Dumont myself and nearly met my maker there 2 yrs ago. I was lucky enough to only brake 2 vertebrae, and make a full recovery. Just thought I'd pass this news along to remind us to never take our trips for granted. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...?showtopic=2113 Edited October 31, 2006 by DOTD Quote
DUNE-A-TIC Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 That is horrible and will follow the thread. What that family is going through must be the worst of the worst. Very Sad!! Dune Quote
DOTD Posted October 31, 2006 Author Report Posted October 31, 2006 There are a few threads on the DDR site about the crash. One from a family member giving an insight to the men who were killed. Quote

platinumjason Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 (edited) Its sad to hear about things like this happen. I know at Silver Lake 3 or 4 years back there was a guy on a Banshee with his family riding next to him and as he crested a hill a dirtbike coming up the backside of it(the wrong way) came up over top and hit him in the chest/head from what I was told. I didnt see it but was there that day. Guess the wife and kids were in the vehicle at the time and saw the whole thing happen. I have almost been hit about 10 times or so but only 1 real close call with a jacked up F-150 going damn near straight at me as I was heading over the dunes past test hill towards the exit. You definatly have to be careful and pay attention because about 70% of the people there dont. Edited November 1, 2006 by platinumjason Quote
