Isn't it good year that makes a tire that looks normal but the sidewalls are thick as hell? So even if you get a flat the tire still maintains it's shape and keeps rolling. I think it was the history channel where they said the pres rolls on those.

 

That is one of the run flat strategies that is out there. The military currently use that type of tire with some additional equipment inside the tires for their up-armored vehicles. :down:

the sidewall on a BFG project is so stiff that coupled with beadlocks you can run them down the road with 0 psi and be fairly safe. but they are kevlar walls and ~$475 each.

Great, so now when you hit something in the road your tire will deform and instead of your suspension traveling upward whatever it is you hit will smash into the undercarriage of your car and bugger everything up.
