CenCalBanshee Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Recently I broke a piston skirt and all the metal went down in the case so i decided to tear that down also the problem im having is the center crank bearings are full of metal. i was able to order the mains on the side and the rod bearings but when i called a dealer about the crank center they said it was better to just buy a new crank. If anyone knows where i can send the crank to get the center bearings put on let me know please. im not quite ready to drop 400 on a crank. or where i could get the bearings and send the crank to get rebuilt also would be a great help Quote
platinumjason Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 You can find a good used banshee crank on here or ebay for between $75-$125. I wouldnt buy anything through a dealer. Quote
CenCalBanshee Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Yea i wasnt planing on buying a crank thru the dealer but i figured i would get a hot rods crank if i had to break down and buy one. but if i could find one for that price I might just do that Quote
535banshee Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 the cost to rebuild would be about the same. so buy used if you trust that or buy a new one Quote
IROOST1 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Yeah, my dealer told me that its the same cost to rebuild a crank as it is to get a new one. So just get a new crank off ebay or a used one that off a part out. Quote
NYUK Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 call andy, 1 616 642 6186. he can put the heavy duty bearings throughout. Quote

Be sure to make sure that the ejector pin relief pockets don't leak from one cylinder to the next if one is wider than your middle seal. That would spoil your efforts whether you install a used crank or a new one. Good luck! Edited October 23, 2006 by David Keith Quote
