I've always heard that the more air you put in haulers the better they hook up.... How much is too much? What amount have you guys found that works the best?

There's another active thread about this right now. Plus there's about 50 others if you try searching. But in the effort to save you time: 5psi minimum if you're jumping at all, 8 psi max. Vary the pressure based on sand conditions. Really dry, loose sand needs lower psi, wet sand needs higher psi.

this is not correct! if you want more traction you put more air in a paddle tire. this keeps the paddle from rolling over. less air in a paddle tire lets the paddle roll over. we run more than 8psi in a paddle tire all the time in drag racing. air pressure will very due to the type of sand. loose sand you want more air to get the tire to hook. wet sand hooks better so if you are hooking to hard than let some air out

I run 4psi in my extremes and feels perfect, I dont really want it hooking up any more than what it is now.I am too cheap to put a swinger on the bike so it makes it nice and unpredictable.

I run 3 psi in the loose sand, however i noticed i am starting to spin the tire a little bit on the rim.

Yeah spinnin' that tire on the rim is not to helpful. I think that the 6-8 pounds in loose sand works pretty good, because the blades do roll if not inflated enough.............. :beer:

will the bead glue work? or is that just for preventing leaks?
