The question is...do you want video or still pictures.

For still pictures, you simply can not beat a Digital SLR...I love mine.

However, no video....

 

For any kind of action shot....they can not be beat....

 

 

WHAT?!?! digital slr's don't do video???? for what you pay for those suckers they should come with their own damn director (or atleast actress)

It is like Dajogejr said. Choose video or still and stay with it for a while. I started in video back in the late 1980s when it was very expensive to do professional editing and that is why I switched to still a few years later. One thing to consider: Nobody hangs a DVD over the mantle and gazes at it. At least not unless it has a still picture imprinted on it. For weddings and events I provide a DVD slideshow in place of the traditional photo album of days past.
