Joshtruction Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 OK, so I spent the last 5 or so hours searching the HQ for different fender cuts. I live in new england so we got every terrain imaginable over here. I drive 15 minutes east, and it is all sand, or I stick around my area and it has everything under the sun. I can hit anything from water crossings and mud, down to hard packed clay, dusty dirt, sand whoops, really really rocky hard pack (seems to be a lot of that around here) so I still need my fender to be functional. Problem is I LOVE race cut fenders and think they look a world better than stock. I want to trim them down, but have still function a bit when turning in mud, or hitting shallow puddles at speed. So far wompasprez on this board has the best looking "semi cut" fenders I have seen (I attatched a pic below) and I'd like something like that. Does anyone else have any pictures of cut fenders that still function a bit, or any idea's that can help me out? Anyone have any more pictures of his fenders by any chance? Thanks in advance guys! MYquadsFaster Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) dont trim your rear fenders...i regret doing mine, its the worst crossing rivers or going through mudd...i dont think the front fenders made any difference any way so id say cut those any way you want ....heres a pic of mine Edited September 23, 2006 by MYquadsFaster Quote
gottago2stroke Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Yes New England is great... what state you in? I live 1/2 hour off long island sound, south-east Connecticut. My fenders are not affected by N.E. terrain, but my rims sure as hell are, theyre almost squares :ermm: Heres a shot of my cut fenders: And take MYquadsFaster's advice, DO NOT cut your rears. The way I cut mine was just because I needed to be able to see if my a-arms were clearing the real rocky terrain of Southern CT. And thanks to some rocks I don't have a skidplate, both my PRM and my stocker were demolished by rocks! My stocker got torn in half... never did find the sprocket side, was ripped clean off :ninja: Quote
Joshtruction Posted September 24, 2006 Author Report Posted September 24, 2006 I live in south east massachusetts right near the RI boarder. If I shoot out a little east all the terrain turns to sand, and if you can find a place to ride on the over populated cape it's like moving way far west and sand as far as the eye can see. Over here though I get beat to death on hard pack and rocks, and mud. CT terrain is like the same stuff I have to deal with. I like the stock rear fenders, I jsut think the fronts look funny. Quote
