LiftdT4R Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Ok, after seein vids of ellison wheelin' it up, and rmembering how easy it was to wheel my KFX, I took to the streets to practice some wheelies. Didnt go soo hot, the front end would come up, when I dumped the clutch, but it would fall right down. I'm kinda light, only 140lbs, so I tried to shift my weight back farther, dumped the clutch, and the bike came right out from under me when I hit the powerband and the bike came right out from under me. Just one of those oopes I guess, I've been riding for 10 years now, and I never could wheelie a 2 stroke. Anyway, the banshee went up on a curb, flipped, bent my stem, snapped the grab bar, and I got some nasty rash on my new IMS tank. Whatever, could care less, but I got some rash on my elbow, and spraned it, so I'll be out of work for a few days. Here is a link to a pic of elbow, figured some people ight be a little squemish, althougb it's nothin' terrible. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e130/JHupp06/P1010133.jpg Quote

LiftdT4R Posted September 9, 2006 Author Report Posted September 9, 2006 LOL, Liftdt4r you should come out with us sunday to redeem yourself My elbow is super sore this morning, I usually work weekends, and I'm pretty stick until the end of spetember, but if you guys give me like a weeks notice, I'd love to get out there. I can only bend this shit like half way, and I gotta swap stems and grab bars with my '01 so I atleast have one decent bike. Thanks for the offer man, I'll be out there soon! Quote
DriverDoyle Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I got a like new stearing stem if you need it... Quote
LiftdT4R Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 Hahaha, thanks for the offer, I pulled the stem off my '02 since it won't be done any time soon, I want to go +1 or +2 when I build my 01 back up. Thanks though! Quote
b33rs Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Practice on sand or something softer :thumb: Quote
differentstrokes Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 I did something similar last weekend...stood mine up on the grab bar going pretty fast and rode it out until I could get is slowed down and then finally slid off the seat onto my ass...HARD. My whole ass is bruised black and blue. I don't think I've ever had bruises this bad but they're not to painful. I know road rash like you've got burns like hell. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted September 17, 2006 Author Report Posted September 17, 2006 Practice on sand or something softer :thumb: Thanks for the advice, wish there was some sand around here! Yeah, road rash sucks, especially when the bitch at medimerge is half blind, and tries to pick rocks out of it with a tweezer. I've given up on trying to wheelie down my street, too painful, and my lawn is shredded, so I'm gonna hold off for a while. Quote
silencethevoice Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Practice on sand or something softer :thumb: I hear that.. I usually wait until I'm in the dunes to practice .. I agree that 4 strokers are a hell of a lot easier.. Banshee's gotta be one of the hardest bikes I've ever tried to hold up.. Quote
87sheerips Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Thats funny, my dumb ass did the same thing this summer. Ashphalt def. not a good practice surface. The road hooked on my grab bar on one side, flipping me instantly. Got some major elbow road rash, and of course having j-arms bent the upper right. But i bent it back with a street sign post and rode the rest of the weekend! Quote
LiftdT4R Posted December 2, 2006 Author Report Posted December 2, 2006 Yeah, asphalt definately gurts. My arm still has a nasty scar on it, and the skin seems really really soft. Also, my elbow hurts when it rains. Sucks, but you live and learn........ maybe. Quote

shee rips Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 ya pavement crashes definitly suck. i also agree with you guys that banshees are one of the hardest bikes to wheelie, other than a moped, not from lack of power, but the way it hits can be intimidating because it pulls the fron end up so quickly. I can wheelie the shee pretty good now, but nothing like my YZ. as for the road rash i know the pain you're feelin. stings eh  Quote
