pipebomb Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 (edited) ain't nothing new. there were class action suits against a LOT of those oil pit places(jiffy lube, pit stop, etc) a few years back. thankfully my father has been a car nut since he was like 14, so I grew up turning wrenchs and I do 90% of my own stuff. IROOST1 Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 I as well will not let anyone touch my truck. An oil change takes a whole ten minutes (no jacking up with a truck). And you can take your oil to any auto parts store for free, or just put it in empty washer fluid jugs and leave it in the parking lot at night by a garage(funny huh, but it works). oil, 6 quarts=$11.00 sure grip filter=$2.50 not letting a retard at a shop f*** your ride=priceless And I would know, i work for a auto parts wholesaler and several coworkers have gone to tech school and i wouldnt let them go near anything. Just beacuse they went to tech school doesnt mean squat. If you are mechanically talented, youre good. But most people in tech schools are dumbshits. But if you must go to a shop, find a private shop not some chain. So you can talk to the owner if there are any problems. Quote

enFORCER Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Well, I wouldn't take any of my vehicles to those quickie lube places. I just don't like the looks of those ass picking, booger eating half wits you see working there. Quote
MILO Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 nbc paid $240 for an oil change, air filter, and fuel filter :baseball_wassat: there must be a lot of morons out there who have more $$ than brains to fork out that kind of cash for something so simple. i feel bad for people who have no vehicle knowledge whatsoever. a guy i used to work with expected to pay at least $600 every year to get his car inspected. new brakes, tires, or exhaust, blah blah blah... he is totally clueless when it comes to mechanical stuff. i know what's required for inspections so i go over everything myself before taking it to the garage so they can't pull any shit on me. i'd probably get fired from a jiffy lube kind of place because i couldn't rip people off the way they do. Quote
