Well my shifter is screwing my in the ass with NO lube and its dosent feel good . Well i went to shift in to first from second and it just went all sloppy on me, then now its gets stuck in all sorts of gears only way it will shift alright is when its off and i wiggle the shifter up and down untill i can feel it catch. Why would this happen, my shift shaft and springs are very new but it feels like the star is being a pussy any ideas on what i should do. Im pissed at this shit.

Maybe your just out of adjustment. open up the right side and play with the screw.

 

I have a similar problem with my shifter. Although mine usually sticks in 3rd-4th, and will only allow me to shift between those two gears. My problem lies in the shifting mechanism next to the clutch. where the shifting rod comes thru the engine out the other side....right by the clutch. Once mine sticks I have to open her up and adjust the adjustment screw. then shee is fine untill the next time it locks up. I race ... and it usually happens when Im triple shifting. once shee gets nice and warmed up....seems like the metals in there start bending or something. I have no clue. but I wish I had permanent fix.

Sounds exactly like what happened to me in Glamis last season. So I take it it's loose and only shifts when you return it to the center or where the shifter usually sets untill you up or downshift. If thats the problem, then the shifting mechanism adjustment screw probably broke off. It's like an $8 part that the shift return spring rides on. Just remember when youre replacing it, to tighten the jam nut really really good, and to drain the oil first. I got too excited and dumped oil everywhere. Wife was pissed.
