CFM Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 Here's the scoop, I came across this cheap Banshee about a month ago, and could not pass it up... This thing was in pretty bad shape, needed bushings, bearings, etc and was all stock except a "fresh rebuilt engine" quoted the owner. Took it home and tore it to pieces. Now this thing is a budget quad, I can't go overboard. Also took the top end off for inspection/cleanup/possible port job. Fresh 65.5 bore and a new Hot Rods crank. It's a good start... Hit up the bay for a 25 dollar seat cover, and supprisingly it came out very nice.. So far it has been torn down, excess brackets removed, blasted, and done in Silver vein. Cut front fenders, sent a ton of pieces to the coaters. New bearings/bushings in hand. Also just found a set of Mint +2 +1 Armarillo arms with tie rods, brush gaurds, and braded lines for 315 shipped, they should be here mid-week. Is this a reasonable price? What do you guys think? CFM Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 Not sure what direction I want to go with this one, going to do the arms, and a +2 swingarm for sure though. Seems the big ticket items are going to be Wheels, pipes, and shocks. Have to get those as the stockers were in poor shape... What to do with this plastic? the rear fenders droop, and the front plastic was trashed... had to get out the air sander to get it possibly useable, the guy I got it from tried some kind of stripper and well you can figure the outcome.. Animalman294 Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Good find man, keep us posted on your progress.................. Quote
njbanshee Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Save money and don't run rear plastics. I like the look better too. That was a good price on a-arms. I would recommend t-5's for your bike. I have a +2 chrome swingarm for sale. Its an alba square tube, its very strong and is built to handle big jumps and all the woops you can handle. Let me know if your interested. Quote
CFM Posted August 17, 2006 Author Report Posted August 17, 2006 Got the arms on and installed steering stem bearings .. Powder does not really match the frame, bummer.. Quote
