Allright...

 

I need :

 

1) Top end rebuild

2) Chain, Sprockets, and rollers

3) Front Rim(s)

 

I have a little money burning a hole in my pocket, but I need to strech it as far as possible. I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction for the best brands at reasonable prices.

 

1) for the top end, I deff want Wiseco's, but everybody and their brother has rebuid kits. So who would you recommend? I've thought about giving Jeff at FAST a shout. y/n?

 

2) There are sooo many options for chain and sprockets. I want an X-ring but don't know what brand, or how many links I need for 14/41 w/ stock swinger. 120? Also, sprockets - what brand and material should I go with? Rollers - TMDesign or UPP? Best places to buy everything?

 

3) Douglas or ITP? Best place to buy? Cascade has good prices on douglas I think?

 

PLEASE HELP! Any info would be greatly appreciated. :beer:

1) Definately call Jeff for your Top End! If you need your cylinders bored, he can handle all of the above at a very reasonable price, IMO, nobody does better work at an affordable rate. I've had cylinders done at many different shops local and elsewhere. I just got mine back from him and must say they are perfect in every way......

 

2) For the chain & Sprockets, check with Rocky Mountain ATV. I most often buy the JT or Sunstar sprockets. My preference is a steel front/aluminum rear....I like the 120 link chain and cut to fit. I'm running the TMDesign rear guide and front roller. No problems here. I believe Rocky Mountain has those also, you might check with James Lucky or Chaparral Motorsports.

 

3) For a standard wheel (No beadlock or reinforcing rings) I prefer the Douglas .160 or .190 for anything but sand. In the Dunes, the .125's work for me. I have a set of ITP Baja's on the rear of my Shee for dirt tires and like them alot (Even though they are kinda heavy). Again, Rocky Mountain has good prices, also check Hell Bound Racing or Recreation Tires.

i got 2 differnt sets of stocks in my garage =-/ I THINNNNNNK there stock , i have to check ... this will be when i return august 22 . ill let u know then sorry

 

i got a 41 tooth , and im preety sure i got a stock chain laying around you can have.

 

third edit : if you need the parts in a hurry, find em elsewhere .

OK, I'm set on the top end. I talked to Jeff this morning, so I'm go to go there. But I still don't know about the chain and sprockets.

 

X-ring Chain: DID - EK - Renthal - Krause - Regina - other? How many links? Is 104 correct? Do they only come with a min of 120 and have to be cut? I don't want to cut if I don't have to.

 

Sprockets: Renthal - Sunstar - JT - Ironman - TAG - Sidewinder - other? Alu. - Stl. - Tool Stl.?

 

Rims: ITP T9's or Douglas Black or Red labels

 

I know some of you use these, so tell me what you think. Likes/dislikes?

sence you said you need to stretch money as far as possible then grab some USED oem wheels off ebay for real cheap. the performance you gain by going to aftermarket (unless a specialised application) isnt a huge ammount.

 

use the money saved by buying used wheels to go towards a porting. unlike wheels, porting gives you huge gains. for $200 you get porting done at rb porting. for not much more you get get the cyls honed/bored and new wisecos. i think its $25 a cyl to bore. i dont know what wisecos go for but it cant be too much. grab a $10 ebay top end gasket kit too. if you have any money left over send rb porting the head and they will cut it down and rechamber it. you get 95% of the benefits of a aftermaeket "cool head" but it only cost ya $65. for $20 they will slot youre oem stator bracket so you can advance the timing.

 

buy some new x ring chain where ever you can get it cheapest. some of these guys will sell ya good used sprockets. go for it.

 

stretch that money.
