dajogejr Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I'd ask the same in the sand forum... With your motor and +4 swinger...I'd say 10 row with about a 70 or 72 inch rollout. You want a taller, narrow paddle... I got a steal on my +6 swinger and 12 row paddles...but, I think I'm going to be pointing skyward a lot with my setup once it's back together... Quote

sheefreak Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Have you ridden that beast w/6 over and a 12 paddle? I am pretty skyward running a 4mill, stock jug, drag port w/6 over and 70 rollout 9 paddles. Cdwood, w/a +4 you will have fun trying to keep the front end down w/10 paddles, especially running stock gearing. But you will need at least that to take advantage of the power you have. As dajogejr stated, it is a fine line between tire size, swingarm length, number of paddles and gearing to be setup ideally. Too much swingarm, no traction. Not enough swingarm and too many paddles, skyward. Too few of paddles, you won't launch. I would personally run a 8 over swinger, 12 paddle w/that setup on gas cdwood. Quote
dajogejr Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Sunday will be my first day out on a 300ft sand drag. I'm gonna have to toy with air pressure and gearing for sure... I got such a good deal on the swinger and tires, I simply could not pass them up. I planned on running T5 pipes and stock carbs. Now...I've got 35PWKs and I'll have RDZ pipes by the end of this week...so, it's gonna be fun. I think it's gonna throw my 245 lb ass back fairly easily.... Quote

My buddy is coming out, too...and I'm gonna ask him to video it. The cool thing is, the place we're going is pretty cheap, like 15 or 20 bucks...and you can run all day. So, I'm hoping to get at least 30 runs in or so to get it tuned in. My builder is putting dial a jets on it...just met him for lunch today. Should be a whole lotta fun... I'll post up a vid or two when I get back, for sure!! Quote

You did change your swinger though which changes things a bit. I don't just drag so I was leaning towards the +4, because the +6 I've heard was a biotch to turn for duning, which I do most (60-65%) of the time. I was thinkin' around a 9 paddle with a 70 inch roll out. I also have the dial-a-jet set up because my riding areas are so extreme, so let me know how that works out..............thanks man :beer: Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Cdwood37, You really need to decide what you are going to do with your banshee race or dune ride.As I stated in the sand forum for tire prefrence.If you get 12 with 72" roll out its going to suck for dune riding to much sidewall.You're going to have to give up alittle in both areas to be able to do both.That is exactly why I have to banshees.
