feedmelies Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 160-175 for a 350, thats pathetic for a 350 even that old. I would be leaning towards the 250 range, especially the larger cars................... You have to factor in the wear on the engine. An engine that was rated at 300 hp by the factory in the 70's is bound to have hundreds of thousands of miles on it by this day and time. You have to think about the age of this guy's car. It is 30 years old. To the threadstarter: If you want a good muscle car, don't get anything newer than '72. That's when everything started going downhill, like the introduction of more safety features and smog components, all of which hindered performance. I have a '67 Chevelle with a 396. It takes a ton of money out of my account, but every time I start it and hear the beautiful sound of American muscle, I know I have been doing the right thing. Quote
Dead Op Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 I got a 67 SS Chevelle with a 396 in the making! My dads friend has one that was restored 10 years ago too, He let me drive it and man does that sucker move. I will be doing more to the chevy once the willys is done. Quote
