Well i'm about to re-do my stock top end,i wanna get a port and polish and a big bore kit cause the cylinders are screwed up,so right now im between k&t,or F.A.S.T.,any suggestions?

by the time you get your cylinders sleeved and ported, you're gonna have too much money into them in my opinion. call some builders and ask around to see if they have some laying around. I bought a complete kit the other day (long rod crank, coolhead, domes, cylinders, and pistons for $500 just buy calling one and asking what he had laying around. The cub cylinders basically killed the pricing on stock cylinder setups, because everyone ditched them in favor of the cubs.

good luck

Stock cylinders can still be ported into some good running shit. Don't totally ditch them. I know I have a few sets still sitting around I might send out.

for the cost you can set up a set of cub cylinders for a set of bb ported stockers..

as for a builder there are many suggestions that come to mind, ive said it before and i would call around and see which you like best, if they sound like used car salesmen (like a few ive called) then walk away..

best bet would deffinitely do your homework into what you would want done, the total cost and do it one time instead of over and over again..

Hope I didn't come across like i was saying to ditch your cylinders. I just think if your heart is set on some big bore stock cylinders, find some used ones. Resleeving just isn't very cost effective, especially if your cylinders haven't been ported.

I would go with cubs. As said above, by the time you bore our your jugs, resleeve them, then get them ported you will be upwards of the price of a cub cylinder. The cubs will out-perform a big-bore cylinder. As for the builder, just call around and go from there. Its all a matter of personal preference. I like K&T, but a little heads up for you... Kim and Terry are both kinda dicks over the phone, but are awesome people in person. They have about a 3 month wait on stuff right now, they are busy as hell, as is any builder. Jeff at F.A.S.T. is good to deal with as well. Just call around see who you like. K&T has the fastest shit on the western slope, I think Jeff at F.A.S.T. and Passion are both pretty close over on the eastern slope.
