i dragged a stock cylinder banshee w/ my ported banshee(agressive trail/drag port) and i was not walking away from him at all. only on the very top of sixth gear was i pulling him. he has t5's and the same cool head and dome size that i do. same +4 timing but he also has stock reeds and i have v-force 3's. i figured that i would pull him fairly easy but we were dead even in a 700-800 ft drag. the only thing i can think of is that i'm not taking full advantage of my port work because i have stock carbs. i believe they are my weak link. by the way we both have 14-41 gearing and 20" holeshots. are the carbs holding me back????????????help

Well, there is a limit to how much the stock 26 mm carbs will flow, and you have probably reached that limit. You can pick up a set of 28 mm or 30 mm carbs at a reasonable price. I wouldn't go any bigger than 34 mm, because you will start to lose some bottom end power.

That along with some clamp on filters should allow you to take advantage of your port work.

if i were you i'd be getting a set of bigger carbs.probally 33pwk's would be just the thing.you could get 34 pj's or even 35 pwk's.however like enforcer stated to big and you will start sacraficing bottom end.i would think you woud be good up to 35's but i would'nt go any bigger.there could also be a difference in port jobs.no two port jobs run the same, there is always a slight difference.as for the v-force reeds ,i myself prefer stock ported cages over v-forces but then thats just my preference.

but his cylinders are not even ported, they are stock. do you think by me porting my bike w/ stock carbs, did nothing at all? i would think i would have pulled him at least a little.........

i would think that the port job would definitely be good because dynoedge was porting bikes reaching 100hp on a stock stroke. of course i think they are out of business now so who knows.

A banshee with porting even with stock carbs should smoke a stock port banshee. One of my friend's has a stock carb/ported banshee and it runs extremely well.

Have you considered the tires you were running? If it's a good port job,you will probably be spinning them off.On asphault my friend's banshee will spin thru 1st and 2nd no problem.Traction is probably your problem.

i have a mild port job that i did myself and am running stock carbs. there is not a banshhe that i have ran at the drags that is faster then i am stock. so i'd say that you should be beating him by a couple lengths in just a 500ft. drag. ask blueshee03 about my bike he has seen it run
