Ive got a set of cylinders that somebody poorted and went so far they had to jb weld a hole all the way thourgh to the outside of the jug.My question is is this comon practice in porting or is it a sighn that whoever did it didnt know what they were doing.

the people who do the jb weld rig , cant afford to weld it up. They do that so they can increase the port size i belive, and or increasing the coolant size . Morrover they add exhuast ports. here is my JB weld on my goped... i added a secondary boost port with jb weld... I wouldnt in my life do this to any banshee. just my .02

I would say its a sign they don't know what they are doing. (No offense chase, lol) on a banshee cylinder any big-name builder would get it welded or use Epoxy. Not JB Weld. I wouldn't trust those cylinders any farther than I could throw them. Good luck with them man. You never know they might scream like mad and make me look like an ass. I wouldn't stick anything with JB weld on my bike though.

It could be epoxy, It doesent look like jb weld from the outside. Its a place in the transfer port adout as big as a eraser on a pencil looking at it from the inside.I tried to show some pics but my shity ass computer wont download them. What is the difference in epoxy and jb weld,I thought they were the same. The guy claims he was running 4.5 in 300ft with theses on gas.He says they are badass so im going to try them and if I dont like em ill ebay emI only paid 200$ for them and they are std bore. The porting looks pretty good but im no expert by far,but the transfers are really opened up.I really just bought them to run while i send mine off to get worked.I will proably run them untill the winter,by then i hope to have a passion stroker. The guy claims that after i run these i will not want to switch to the passion.Im going to have them bored next week and see how they do.He was at about the same elevation as me and was running 34pjs with 145 main with 42 pilots and cel needle what would this traslate to on stock carbs on stock carbs.I know i dont have all the info needed like what pipes he ran but we got in a little arguement and this is all the info i have.Im running trinity pipes with pods and im running 340 main 27.5 pilot.Oh yea how are the mukini 34s compared to the pjs the reason im asking is somebody here has some forsale and it would be nice to beable to use all my jets that i already have.Or shoud i just get the pjs or pwks. Will I loose all my low end with the bigger carbs?

If its just a little hole, it sounds to me like whoever (him) ported them, didn't have much if any experience, and simply went too far at one point. They tried hogging out the transfers as much as they could and went right through, which makes me think they might be really thin in other places.

So what would yall do if you were in my shoes?I can file a claim with paypal, but dont know exavtly how that works."never had to before" Could put them on see how they do without boring but in my opinion they need boring from the wear.Ebay them of and put somebody else in my position.Or throw them away and loose my 200$ and start all over.If i bore them as they need to be then they run like shit thats just more cash ill be out.

if you file a claim you will get your money back , and most of the time you keep the product... i have lost over 200+ on paypal due to chargebacks and the guy not wanting to send my product back. Talk to the guy see if you can get the refund , if not go ahead and file the chargeback ( you got nothin to loose ) . Dont shaft the guy if you get the money back send him his stuff, but thats just me .

like 15 days for the full refund . depends on how the seller responds to the claim .

ask the guy for your money back if not your doing a chargeback.

I asked him for my money back and he refused.Do I need to ask again,I filed a claim and stated my case.He told me he was just giong to say that the epoxy or jb weld or whatever the shit is was just part of drag porting.I explained in my claim that it was a halfass wrong way to do it.I hope my case stands up.I just want my money back.

I canceled the chargeback. This is how it came about.I went to a shop where theres a guy I know that has a boring bar and he happend yo have a set of trinity stage 4 cylinders sitting ther so we began comparing and measuring the two.The intake was a little different but my porting looked just as good everywhere but the spot of jbweld. My exsaust was 28mm from the top of the bore which i think puts me around 190.and the transfers where way bigger on mine. So he said lets bore them out to mainly clean up the taper and see what they will do.So we got them bored up and aset of pistons matched to each cylinder and I put it together last night and started breakin it in Ive got my ratio at 24;1 still but now were getting to the fun part ohyea im pulling 182psi from both cylinders. As soon as i got on I noticed somthing felt different put im just putting fot the breakin getting a little faster every time and checking plugs repeatly but suprisingly the jetting looks spot on.To day i opewnd her up and omfg this thing pulls of the bottom just like it did before and then comes the mid:hold the fuck on: and im on a dirt road getting little traction and all it wants to do from mid to top in every gear is come around,so despite my new tires i got on a short strech of pavment and it power wheelies in forth I know but any further Im not sure because I ran out of pavment"turns into dirt".Its as big of a diffreance as going from stk to pipes and a noss headall of which i allready have.It runs so good im actully thinking about leaving it alone for the first time since i got the thing, but me being me I noticed even though the jetting seems to be rite it seems to be screaming give me some more.So what do yall think 34pjs or what maybe some vforce or just leave it alone.give me some opinions on carbs and what to do next. The guy that had them before was running pjs 145 main and i dont remember the pilots, but he said before he took em off he was running alky so im not sure what to do.

Before I spent more money on new carbs and other bolt ons, I would get a new set of cylinders. You are probably looking at about $400-600 for a used set of ported cylinders. Thats a lot cheaper than frying your top end and crank from an airleak or a cylinder cracking. Thats just my two cents.
