brodysblanshee Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 (edited) Just got the shee about 5 weeks ago, and it already had T5's, single K&N w/ pro-flow, pro-design cool head with 19cc domes... The bike has always ran perfect, I've pulled the plugs a few times and they have been right on. So as of right now, I don't even know what jets/needles the former owner has in it (he told me but I forgot) Now I'm adding a few mods to it and would like to get some suggestions as to which jets I should buy. I'm adding timing plate (+4), v-force 3's, and dual K&N's. I run at sea level and it's usually 85 to 100 degress outside when I'm riding, humidity is always up there too. I'll prolly pull the carbs and check the jets that are in it now. But I'm just looking at some suggestions as to which jets/needles to purchase for tuning purposes... Thanks Brady Edited June 13, 2006 by brodysblanshee Quote
banshdog Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 just a guess........... go up three sizes on your mains Quote
9603banshee Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I'd go to an aftermarket needle (they're all the same pretty much), put it on the 3rd clip from the top and run some 27.5 or 30 pilot jets and some 320 or 330 mains, and put your air screw around 1 1/2 turns out from all the way in......that should put you about right and still safe (not lean in other words)..... 2003LimitedBanshee Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I think you will be too big on the pilot at 30, but probably at 27.5 as well. I ran 27.5's for a while (at cooler temps too) and found I improved my throttle response off idle when I switched back to stock 25's. Quote
