shmiggles Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 After a run, when I shut the quad off it sounds like there is air in the radiator. How exactly would I bleed the coolant system.... is there a bleeder screw like a car or is it a different system??? Quote
racer Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 there is no way to bleed it. if its gurgling it may just be low. on second thought: make sure the small diameter coming from the TOP of the head isnt blocked. thats the only way air can get trapped in the system. Quote
shmiggles Posted June 9, 2006 Author Report Posted June 9, 2006 make sure the small diameter coming from the TOP of the head isnt blocked. This may be a dumb question.. but on the top of what head? Quote
racer Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 heh. the cylinder head- its what the spark plugs screw into. now between those plugs there is a small diameter, maybe 10-12mm hose. that hose automatically bleeds the coolant system. make sure that it is free flowing and hooked into the back of the radiator. Just open the radiator cap, grab the bottom radiator hoes squeeze it about twenty to thirdy times listen for gurgling sound. When the gurgling stops. Your good to go Quote
ssanddemon Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I would expect it to be gurgling after a run if it is overheating. Is your coolant level dropping or is any coolant coming from the overflow hose? If so, I would first replace the radiator cap. The spring can weaken over time and they won't hold pressure. Quote
