Hey all,

I have asked around on other forums about this problem but I still cant get it fixed. I have a 1990 banshee bored out to a 370 with toomey T-5's and single carb kit. I am running a CEL needle, 52 pilot and I think a 162 main jet in a keihin carb. I am running 132 left and 137 pounds of compression in the two cylinders.

The Problem:

The Shee starts and runs fine but when you go to rev it up a bit it boggs down and refuses to rev up. After a few seconds it revs up but is still bogged down like the motor is loaded up. If you run the machine in the first two gears it still wants to bog, but after your in 3rd and up and you are in the meat of the power band it really screams.

I have a honda 250r that is all stock and it revs out like I believe that the banshee should. I have worked on snowmoblies all my life and I just cant straighten out this problem. The wires are all tight and have a good ground its just having issues at the 1/8 - 1/4 throt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

dumb question for ya.

Did you disconnect ALL the TORS connectors when the single carb set-up was installed??

my '01 did the same thing when I did mine. found out I missed the connector going to the P-brake switch on the clutch lever. start up and would idle fine, but hit the gas and "Bwaahhh", bog right out.

check that there is nothing clogging or blocking up your fuel lines. The fuel filter on my banshee cracked and when i rode it for more than 5 minutes and came to a stop, it would not rev past idle at all. I would shut it down, check the spark plug caps and look around the bike, then i would start it up and would run fine for another couple minutes. It was running out of gas becasue the fuel filter i had on there was letting gas leak out, when i shut it down and looked around it would get enough past to run for a little while. this is what i finally figured out, had me puzled for a couple days!!

dissconect your parking brake electic line.

yeah bud, it's most likely the e-brake. make sure it's not set or sticking, unhook it all together if necessary and get a block off for the rear caliper. those e-brakes are a worthless pos :yankyank: .
