mikestudley1 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 i have been having a problem of bogging when splashing through mud and water holes it still runs but has absolutely no power and can barely move... have to hold it wide open and feather the clutch to even keep going after couple minutes it clears up and has power again ...i am putting my money on the fact that i do not have a air box cover i have taken the filter off immediatly after this has happend and it is completely clean on the inside of the filter ...but maybe it could be something electrical... i dont know just was in the mood to ask a stupid question Quote
racer Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 check your plug caps, mine used to act that way with a trip to the car wash. Quote
banshdog Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 ...i am putting my money on the fact that i do not have a air box cover You got it. When you go through mud and water, it is getting on the filter. Water on the filter will restrict air flow, bogging the bike down. Water may also pass through the filter, symptoms will differ depending on how much gets through. water will bog or completely kill the bike, and usually will make the slides stick in the carbs. either change your intake setup or avoid ripping through puddles at high speeds.
