Satsol67 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Can I just get the needle valve assy for that carb or do i have to buy a complete rebuild kit? I found 1 site and they wanted 33 bucks for one and that wasnt the whole kit. I dont want to keep messing with the float because i am scared it will make it starve for fuel while its running and blow the motor. They are stock carbs. Thanks Quote
ssanddemon Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Stock needle & seat ain't cheap! I think I paid like $38 at the stealership. But if it's leaking gas and the float level is right, then you need it. Quote
pipebomb Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 stock carb parts aren't cheap in in general, cause their those F'in Mikuni VM26's. try pricing pilot jets for them. Quote
fastcar01 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Look on Ebay, type in "banshee carbs", there is a guy that sells two complete rebuild kits (comes with everything, needle/seat, main jet, air screw, Orings, bowl gasket, etc) for $29.95 for both, plus like $3.00 shipping. I just bought them $33.00 and I rebuilt both carbs, like you saod that is OEM price for one needle/set. Quote
racer Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 ok, will do thank you post up a link do the ebay page when you find it, im very interested. Quote
canyncarvr Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 All other things being OK (float condition, float level, no mechanical obstruction etc.) a leaking float needle valve/seat can be resolved by burnishing the seat. A machine that has sat with untreated fuel in it for too long is an excellent candidate. Cut a thin strip of wet-n-dry sandpaper (the black stuff ) to cover the end of a cotton swab. Start with 280. Cut the strip long enough to hold with your fingers...say 3" or so. Wet with alcohol, insert into the carb (not necessary to remove the seat) and clean the seat with a twisting motion. Follow with a strip of 400. Remove any residue as needed. BraKleen works well. If the needle itself shows any damage at the tip..dents, impression...or is hardened by age (in the case of a viton type tip), replace it. Quote
