DemonShee Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 I just got my carbs installed in my quad. There are tubes everywhere though. Do I need to leave them fuul length, or can I cut them down to a decent length to clean up the look? Also the pipes sit right next to the carb tops, I mean like almost touching. Is this normal? Last but not least. Is the stock petcock and fuellines adequate for these carbs fuel supply? Quote
cdwood37 Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 What pipes do you have? I have the shearer pipes and my carb top on the left hand side is pretty close, I just put a 3/4" spacer in the hangar mount to spece it out from the head and the carb tops and put some heat wrap arounf the pipes to keep the heat off the fuel lines and such. I reccomend leaving them long and fishing them down somewhere so they don't vent on top of your motor. I had a problem with the petcock and fuel lines on my 421 cub with the same carbs and just oppted for the pingel valve to be safe. It is all up to you on what to do. Better safe than sorry though. DemonShee Posted June 1, 2006 Author Report Posted June 1, 2006 My pipes are the FMF fatty golds, and its the same left side that is so close. I have heatsheilded that side and stuff so it sounds like I was on the right track. I think these carbs will be great but man I hate the look of all those hoses all over the place. Guess I will look into a pingle. Quote
cdwood37 Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 It cost me 85 bucks with shipping i think they are 78 by themselves, the hoses vent the carbs, it is supposed to make them better. Quote
