clean the nikasil

somebody mentioned that some kind of acid dissolves the aluminum from the nikasil plating. what kind of acid and where might i get some. my cheetah cyl has a buildup of aluminum from the sieze. i thought it burned through the nikasil but the more i look at it im not so sure.

Miratic acid will clean the aluminum from the cylinder wall. You can get it at any home improvement store or pool store.

be carefull because that acid will eat the aluminum waterjacket, head, etc just as easy as it will eat the aluminum off the cylinders.

 

ive used muratic acid before for other, non related things. its some nasty stuff. if you get a little wiff of it in youre lungs youre bodys reaction is to breathe out quickly and uncontrolled. its weird.
