planning on getting my cylinders ported and I have my case split right now and figured it would be a good time to do it. My ? is exactly what part of the crank do you weld(any pics would help)? I can weld it my self if I just need to know where.thanks in advance for any help. :)

have to tig weld the crank pins, just run a bead arond the pins on the outsides behind the crank bearings, and on the insides of the main webs you will see the other side of the crank pins, must be tig welded though, dont mig or arc weld it!!

don't they true it before welding , isn't that like balancing?

sure is. i wouldn't bother welding it without getting it trued first. it wouldn't really make sense to do it otherwise. :confused:

Since you are welding on it and adding material to a round object, shouldn't you have it balanced after it is welded to be more accurate?  :cheers:

After you weld it the crank webs will not move, but if you get it within a couple thou. before you'll be OK
