I just got a shee and need good starting point. bike was all stock. now has fresh topend and dont want to fry it. all feedback appreciated

 

mods:

t-5s

k&n pods no box

boysen reeds stock cages

.030 milled head

+4 key

.020 over wiseco's

tors elim & idle kit

 

ride at 600'-1000' in 65-85 deg

 

i searched and came up with ??

280-320 mains

drop needle clip 1 hole

27.5 pilot

air screws 1.5 out

Your in the ball park with your jets. Just start high then come down as needed.

 

I've got 320 main 30 pilot, needle clip in the third slot and air screws 2 turns out.

Sounds like you are in the right range.... like 2005 banshee said, start higher (richer on the mains). personally i wouldnt change the needle adjustment, you may not have to.

I'd start with 340s, work your way down. Needle in the 3rd groove (stock).

You can run stock pilots with those, .5 to 1.5 turns out...or, 27.5 with 1.5 to 2.5 turns out.

 

I had the same setup minus the milled head, and ended up with 330s... Same elevation, same temps.

 

However, at Silver Lake Dunes, I was wide open ALL the time, and it was just a hair lean.

Not enough to melt down...but, I very well could've gone 340s or 350s....
