13 tooth sprocket

hey i just put a 13 tooth sprocket on my '95 Banshee and i was told that you don't have to take a link out, but i can't get that damn chain tightend up enough?!?!? so should i take out a link or would it mess up the alignement with the 2 sprockets??????

Is this a used chain? Maybe its stretched out.

 

When replacing either of the sprockets or the chain, you should replace them all.

try the search feature 1 week ago there was someone with the same problem and his thread title was " chain length " theres proper instructios in there to fix the bike and or any info you might need. no sence in repeating everything

I just put on a 13 tooth sprocket in the middle of the DANG desert and did not take out a link of chain or anything.Might make sure your chain aint streched.

If you have to take a link out then do it. Whats the problem with that, unless you want to go back to a bigger sprocket then you might have to buy a new chain. If you are dead set on the 13t then cut the chain.

ok ,well i heard that if u take a link out u might mess up the alignment between the 2 sprockets, but if not i guess i will just take a link out, i appreciate all the help

If the chain is too long cut it, if it is to short then get a longer one. No offense but this is not rocket science...........4,3,2,1,ignition...............
