batoutofshell Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Aren't they another smokescreen like the boost bottle?I don't see the purpose. How much difference do they really make? Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 From what iv read they are. I think most people use them when they by bigger carbs and need to move them alittle farther away from the cylinders Quote
blueshee03 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 (edited) as far as performance gains ,they do very little.they are good for getting carbs to clear clutch arm ,nitrous nozzle mounting .they do serve better than a boost does. Edited May 15, 2006 by blueshee03 Quote
race-a-holic Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 If you don't need to move your carbs farther back, then just save your money. Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Race and blue are correct they only move the carbs back to give more clearence below them. If you get bigger carbs they will hit the clutch cable and cause interference, so the plate solves this problem. As for any improvement, wellllllllllllllll I think the improvement would be about like getting a more aerodynamic helmet . Bottom line it is a way to solve a problem....... Quote
hittintrees srh Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 like they said-ive got reed spacers to clear my linkage-thats it. Quote
rocketboy Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 a good billet intake already has this feture built into it for clearing carbs ,the idea behind the reed spacer is to balance the reverse wave from the stroke and add crank volume ,its not a gimmik and some engine setups totally respond very well to this mod , for the bulk of us with banshees it wil l barely be noticable though (usually a stronger midrange punch ) Quote
