drbalazo Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I have a question....If I need a clearance of .080...Can anyone tell me which size pistons I need? TIA. p.s. I bought some WISECO .080 pistons (66mm) and the clearance is only .076. If anyody is interested in them, they are new and in their original package. $160.00 shipped to your door. Comes with complete kit and bearings as well. Quote
BKOLFO4 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 When you say clearance: Your cylinder is already bored to .080 over, so you bought .080 pistons. Are the pistons actually .076, or are you saying the cylinders need to be bored to .076 for those pistons? There has to be clearance between the cylinder wall and piston. Brian Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 you say the cylinders are bored to .080 and the pistions are .076 well then you have .004 clearance which should be just fine. I run my 4mill cub at .0035 clearance with no problems. so you have the right pistions if these are the correct measurements you have given us Quote
yyz Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 .076 is in mm... that is the piston to wall clearance rec. by wiseco yyz Quote

Should be able to hone .004, right? Needs to be honed for new piston and rings anyway. I thought he was talking the bore over stock, since at one point he references .080 and then (66mm). Brian Quote
