DemonShee Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 I am about to marry the top and bottom case halves. In the manual it states to uses yamabond but the yammy shop is closed. What other sealers can you use? Small bead of RTV is what I was thinking???? Quote

cdwood37 Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 permatex number two any auto and hardware store carries it. its a semi drying non silicone sealer meant for things like this, its what i always use and no leaks or problems yet. Quote
cdwood37 Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 never use an rtv or gasket maker it has silicone in it never ever use silicone. Quote
DemonShee Posted May 8, 2006 Author Report Posted May 8, 2006 Thanks for the replies everyone. I found a sealer by loctite that sounds like what cd is talking about. Its labeled as the #2 and says to use where a seal is needed but adhesion isnt as important and is semi-drying or whatever. I am going to give this stuff a whirl. Quote
cdwood37 Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 that stuff will work, the reason it has to stay pliable is because of the exspansion factor as the cases are aluminum, something that dried hard would jsut rresult in leaks. Quote
