05Special Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 anything hard about installing an extended swingarm? anything i'll need to get before i do itor that i should replace while I have it apart? Quote
NYUK Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 not hard to install at all, a good set of sliders and new pivot and axle bearings while you have it off will be easier now than later. a couple of grease zerks installed in the pivot point and carrier will lead to longer life for the bearings. Quote
Bansh88 Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 I've had to install swingarms 4 different time. It is a total pain in the ass. There isn't anything too tricky to it. You just have to go slow and think out what gets removed/installed first. Otherwise you have to keep going backwards with the installation. You might need a big helper bar to take off the axle nuts. You need a big socket for the pivot bolts. Like a 22, 23 or 24mm. Maybe it was 26. Not that common in most average socket sets. You'll probably have to beat the axle out of the carrier. Quote
