crazyrotts Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 IF I WANTED TO PC THE CASES DO THEY NEED TO BE SPLIT? I KNOW THERE ARE SEALS AND BEARINGS INSIDE BUT I FIGURE THEY MUST BE ABLE TO TAKE HEAT. BUT I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH. I'VE READ ABOUT PC AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE DIFFERENT BRANDS HAVE DIFFERENT TEMPS. AND BAKE TIMES. Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 IMO i would split the cases and removed all the gears and seals then have them pc. Quote
Wallrat Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 So lets say you don't split em and get the pc done. A year from now you wipe your crank and need to replace it. You're going to have to chisel your way into those cases. Dunno if you noticed but PC is pretty hard and covers up cracks and imperfections well - even the ones that are intentional. Quote
NYUK Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 yes they need to be split,it 1 st involves sand blasting, would you want sand somewhere in your cases? these cases were pc`ed black like the pipes.there was sand and powder all over the inside. it took a few thourough washes with gas soap and water to get it all out.
