night Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Its a stock banshee... according to the banshee manual it says the total fuel tank takes 3.2 gal of gas and the reserve is 0.7 gal. The other day, I filled the tank fully (3.2 gal) We started riding/playing for God knows how many hours maybe 3 hours. The fuel tank lever was on "ON" normal position to be on. My banshee stoped operating due to running out of fuel, kicked it coupled of times and I knew it was the fuel. So I switched the lever to "RES", few kicks and it started. The banshee run for about 10 minutes and it stoped due to fuel tank being out of fuel. I Think I have a problem with fuel tank and here is why: 0.7 gal is 20% of 3.2 gal Finishing 0.7 gal of reserve in 10 minutes, don't you think something is wrong. I think 0.7 gal should take much longer than 10 minutes. What do you suggest please. Your help is appreciated. Thanks alot. Quote
txblueshee Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 3 hours to a tank!?!?! Hell I'd be on my third fill up by then.... The reserve is only good for about 5 runs through the gears if your lucky... Your banshee is just fine... Hell It might even be running a little lean... Mike Quote
batoutofshell Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 I would think in this world you might find better things to worry about, my god dude. now I think I can die.Its not a perfect science, more throttle more burn. I would suggest you invent a gauge ( flow meter) sell them on e-bay and become a millionaire. Quote
night Posted April 25, 2006 Author Report Posted April 25, 2006 so how long does you reserve fuel last in the dunes/deserts? how many miles on the road? Quote
NYUK Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 reserve is just enough to get you out of the woods.when you hit reserve, turn around and fuel up.ride slowly. it is just the low spot in the tank.if you bounce around it will starve it for fuel and shut off. Quote
MILO Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 get the ims huge tank. 508110[/snapback] that or get a six pack rack and strap on a 1 gal jug if you're going to run out before being able to get back and refuel. your reserve time isn't that out of the ordinary. that .7 gal in reserve is pretty flexible. like nyuk said, at that low level it most likely will get starved for fuel and die. odds are if you let is set for a few minutes and settle, it will probably start up again, not for long though. riding time on a given amount of gas is almost impossible to predict anyway. your set up and your riding style will make it vary from somebody else's, without a doubt. bottom line, don't worry about it bud, it's just fine.
