gravity2oo4 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 I need to do a rebuild on my banshee. I am stock right now. I checked the compression and it was 85 in one cylinder and 90 in the other. I was thinking of going with a .80 over weisco kit. Would this be a good choice or what? Im am not looking to spend alot of money... so would this be good for me? Thanks Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 You don't want to go to .80 over at this point. If your cylinders are on the stock bore "64.00mm" have it bored to 64.50mm.If you go to 80 over the next rebuild you will be sleeving the cylinders or buying new ones. Quote
1000dollabill Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 if you bore to 80 over stock you have just murdered those jugs. the next rebuild you will have to buy new cylinders or resleeve. you want the guy/place that bores your cylinders to go up to the next biggest size. which if your stock, you would go to 10 over. as long as your jugs are not scored too badly. again wait till you take your jugs in and they should tell you the size they NEED to bore it to. you aren't going to make your bike any faster by boring 80 over. you will however kill the life of those cylinders in one stupid move. most builders will sell you a topend kit when they bore and hone. bill Quote
blueshee03 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 if your at stock bore ,don't bore it anymore than you have to.boring does'nt give any significant power increase.it only causes your cylinders to need resleeved sooner.so if your at stock and it needs bored ,go to 10 over or just what it takes to clean up the cylinder bores.
