thack Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 ive got a 2003 shee moto fast pipe ,trinity 33 pwk single carb,22 inch realtors, had a 13 tooth sprocket on it with 40/140 jetting it pulled fine up top but was fat on the bottom , i put a 12 tooth sprocket on it for woods riding and dropped to a 35 piliot to help the rich low end now it pulls awsome on bottom but studders on top like its lean guess the gears let it rev out better and lean out on top .do you think i should go up on my main because of my gearing Quote
[email protected] Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 check plugs , plug chop it .... see if you are running lean can always run a bigger jet or just pop the clip on the needle a spot or two ... but my question is can your bike pull that gearing ? i run 17,38 on stroker 10mil Quote
thack Posted April 7, 2006 Author Report Posted April 7, 2006 yea it pulls it fine, the plugs were not white but looked a little to light colored for me , the gears are 12/41 for woods riding, cant hurt to go back up one to see its raining now so ill have to try sat. Quote
80overShee Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 AHHAHA that reminds me of something a friend said about his Banshee and changing his gearing. " "Well, I dropped the front sprocket 1 tooth so now I will have ot rejet right? " -"why would you have to rejet for a gearing change" "Because I wil have more low end now, I have to go bigger on the pilot and needle to make sure it doesnt lean out the low end" I still laugh at him, everytime someone makes a comment about changing gearing, we make the 'rejet' comment. thack Posted April 8, 2006 Author Report Posted April 8, 2006 im also trying to get jetting right with my new pipe and carb set up this is what i get for doing more than one thing at a time i added a bigger main and its much better done a plug check and its tan now but its only 45 degrees when it gets warmer ill have to check it agian Quote
wesw Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 a single carb your going to need fuel to feed both cylinders adn you leaned it out. i would put a 50- 55 pilot in and depending on your needle raise it up and i think guys with a single run like a 170-190 main. Quote
thack Posted April 9, 2006 Author Report Posted April 9, 2006 (edited) rode it today with 35 /145 seems to be ok its real close ,thanks for all input ,i could not have done it with out your all help thanks guys, when i had dual pipes i had a 52/180 in it now with the single pipe ive had to come way down with it but man it has kick ass bottom end Edited April 9, 2006 by thack Quote
