csrmel Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 for some really strange reason thought of this thread today when i was in a meeting with my lawyer. i showed him this thread and gave him a quick run down on the facts. he said that while slander is not his specality, he is pretty sure the loco moderator is free and clear. deleting someones text isnt really slander anyways. enforcer might just MIGHT of had a case (but probably not) but he chose to be ignorant and come back to join in on the name calling and general negative banter of this thread. this shows his hostile intentions and the fact that he does not have a lawyer of his own to represent him and guide him through any legal process. had enforcer actually went to a lawyer, the lawyer would have told him to keep his mouth shut and let everyone here go uncontested with their bashing of him. enforcer basically fucked himself. not that he had much of a case to begin with. law suits and such that happen because of heated internet discussions almost awalys get thrown out so he most likely would not have won anyways. my lawyer also said that user agreements which you have to accept before joining a discussion forum are worthless. they are not legal documents. they do not hold up in court. all they do really is trick the user into thinking there is some sort of website laws he must obey. you cannot for example, click away youre rights as a free person by joining a forum.
