i was riding my banshee on some mondeate speed trails, nothing really challenging. it was running great. all the sudden the engine dies on me. i kick it over and it will only idle. if i give it any throttle the engine dies instantly.

so i got a tow back home and looked the thing over and i could not find any problems with it. i went so far as to replace the plugs, do a compression test, etc. everything checked out OK. i even put a fuel soaked rag in the carb inlet to test if it is a fuel starvation issue. it was not.

the next day i started it up and it ran great, for about 3 monutes, then the same problem happend. it will only idle and if i give it ANY throttle it just dies.

6 hours later i start it up and it runs great for 3 mnutes and the same thing happens again!.

so, i have a feeling that this is something to do with the TORS. but i dont know where to begin.

any ideas?

the dealer is unhelpfull, to say the least.

Look under the gas tank on the left side, for a little black box, and unhook it.  Should solve the problem.

to add to this...disconnect ALL electrical connections that go to this black box

also on the thumb throttle housing where the wire was, get a block off plug or just take some black silicon and a piece of tape and fill the hole up to keep water from getting in

Throttle override system, and the little black box is the brain.  It is right underneath the gas tank as stated.  Pull the wires apart, and start it, see how it runs.
