Yaxy Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 All, After assembling my crank cases last night I noticed that some of the locktite pushed out with the Yamabond. Is this a problem that would cause an eventual leak?? Thanks Chris Quote

The cases seal pretty tightly, the Yamaha bond is just there to make it completely air tight and fill any slight gaps. Quote
Yaxy Posted March 29, 2006 Author Report Posted March 29, 2006 Broke, I am referring to the small 6 mm bolts that screw in from the top of the case and into the bottom portion. Chris Quote
sheefreak Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 How much locktite are you using? I wouldn't see it causing you any problems, but I am still having a hard time envisioning what you are talking about. Quote
Yaxy Posted March 30, 2006 Author Report Posted March 30, 2006 I didn't think I used that much loctite but maybe I did. The reason why I think the loctite ran is because before I snugged up the top screws I tipped up the cases to get the bottom nuts , thus causing the locktite to run between the case halves. sheefreak Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 I wouldn't worry about it personally, but sounds like you are using an excessive amount. Quote
