yamahakid1 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 since im rebuilding my whole motor we got to putting it back togther , the guy doing it says maybe since the head is milled .025 thousands to increase compression, which was just recently done, that i will maybe need a thicker base gasket, so there will be no pinging. But wouldnt that just cancel out the milling if u get a thicker base gasket? Or should i just stick with stock base gasket? Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I believe the stock one will be fine, just make sure to run at least 91 octane in your bike Quote
fastbanshee4u Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Yes a thicker base gasket will defeat the whole purpose of milling the head. Quote
