Infamous039 Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 (edited) I am trying to rejet my banshee because it is not running properly. When I get to full throttle it seems to bog out a little. My mods are FMF fatty's,+4 timing advance, Boyseen Reeds, Stock Carbs (280 mains, 25 Pilots), 15 tooth front sprocket, 41 back sprocket,Tors are removed, Bored .40 over wiesco pistons. It was runnig good last week then this week started running bad like it was just loading up. Please let me know where to start with the jetting or should I leave it the same and just adjust and clean them out?????????? Edited March 21, 2006 by Infamous039 Quote
banshdog Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Where are you located? alititude? temperature? have you checked your compression? What is "acting up" ???? need more details..... Quote
Infamous039 Posted March 21, 2006 Author Report Posted March 21, 2006 Yes my compression is perfect I just rebuild the bike not even a month ago. It starts in the first kick. I live in New Jersey my elevation is 13 feet, the temp is between 40 and 50 degrees. I cleaned the carbs and noticed that one of my main jets was a 290 instead of a 280 so I replaced it with a 280 jet so now they both are the same. Its running better but still backfiring a little bit, but not much and i looked at the plugs and they were black (fouled out), I was thinking maybe from the carb cleaner that I sprayed in the carbs did that. Both pipes are popping fine and it doesnt hesitate at all at take off. Please help me????????????? Quote
batoutofshell Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 (edited) I had the same problem last year was running 280 main with 25 pilot(60-70) it got alittle colder out 10-15 degree (40-50) difference went to a 300 main 27.5 pilot got rid of the WOT bog problem but I will go back down to 280 when the weather warms up.Does yours run good till you nail it in higher gears and it sounds like its choking for fuel if so this should help.My plugs always look burn't don't know why, they don't foul out so>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Banshee~ Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 If it was dialed in for cold weather go down 1 size on the mains. Quote

Infamous039 Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 (edited) I was running the 280 main and 25 pilots a couple of sundays ago and it was about 60-70 degrees outside and it ran fine. I have 1turn on the air screw. Yes the bike runs good unitll I get into higher gears, and its catching the power band but at WOT its starts bogging a little and back firing some. How do I adjust the needle clip????????????? Edited March 22, 2006 by Infamous039 Quote
batoutofshell Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 sounds like your mid is ok if your bogging starts when wot comes than I would move up to a 300 main and try it. to move the needles you need to take the carb tops off turn them upside down and pull the spring back, move the cable catch out of the groove, take out the two little screws the rest is self explained by looking at it apart.when taking apart the frist time is a pain but once you do it about 100 times you will get used to it. just be careful when putting it back together not to strip the carb tops. theeechozen1 Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 try some bigger mains and move the needles up a spot, FMFs seem to like a rich needle Quote
