DIRTMAN350 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Hey guys and gals, I just changed oil on the shee in the trans thinking that the oil that I had in there was not the right oil. Drained it out and filled it with Bel Ray gearsaver and the noise is still there. It sounds like a clutch chatter type noise. Test drove it and it shifts good. Does anybody reccomend pulling the side cover and checking the clutch or what? Also when I drained the oil out I did not see any metal on the magnetic drain plug. If it is nothing to worry about i won't. I would like to know if I should pull it apart or not. Chatter does not get any louder when I rev it up. But hell you could not hear it over the pipes and engine anyway. Thanks for the help. Quote
creamsickle Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 most likley its your bushing going out on you clutch. its an easy fix. while you have it apart check the brass bushing that is on your idler gear. that can also make a chatterin noise. I would definatly get that fixed before you ride next Quote
